The Oriental Cup 2026 is gearing up for an exciting grand finale following intense semi-finals at Dr Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi. For the first time in the tournament’s history, all four finalists have secured their spots, ensuring new champions in both boys’ and girls’ categories. The grand finale, scheduled for Thursday, will feature former India men’s hockey captain and coach Sardar Singh as the chief guest.
In the girls’ category, Bharti Public School secured their spot in the final by defeating Step by Step School, Noida, with a commanding 4-0 victory. Yashika and Nitika showcased stellar performances with goals to lead Bharti to a dominant win. Modern School also advanced to the final by triumphing over Vasant Valley School with a 4-0 win, led by Dhwani Bidada’s impressive hat-trick.
In the boys’ category, Step by Step School, Noida, clinched a tight 1-0 victory over Delhi Public School, Vasant Vihar, securing their place in the Oriental Cup final. The second semi-final witnessed G.D. Goenka School, Dwarka, emerging victorious over Mother’s International School, Delhi, in a thrilling penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
The Oriental Cup 2026 will conclude with the boys’ and girls’ finals, accompanied by exhibition matches featuring NGO teams STRIVE and MIMA. The tournament, which saw participation from over 1,500 student-athletes representing 45 teams in Delhi-NCR, also introduced an increased prize pool and a scholarship program for deserving student-athletes.
