The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has granted 737 visas to Indian pilgrims for an annual festival commemorating the Martyrdom Day of Guru Arjun Dev Ji. The festival is scheduled to take place in Pakistan from June 10 to June 19, 2026.
In response, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) confirmed that 541 Sikh pilgrims have received visas to visit historic Sikh shrines in Pakistan during the martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji. The pilgrims’ journey is set to commence from the SGPC headquarters on June 10.
Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, Secretary of SGPC’s Dharam Prachar Committee, disclosed that out of 561 pilgrims’ passports submitted to the Pakistani Embassy in New Delhi, 541 have been granted visas. The pilgrims will partake in various events marking the martyrdom anniversary on June 18, starting their journey on June 10 and concluding on June 19.
Last year, a group of 170 Sikh devotees visited Nankana Sahib and Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hasan Abdal, Pakistan, before Guru Nanak Jayanti. Approximately 21,006 Indian pilgrims were issued visas by Pakistan to visit Nankana Sahib for the celebrations.
