Pakistan’s Gull Feroza, the opener, received an official reprimand and a demerit point for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the Women’s T20 World Cup match against Australia. The incident took place when Feroza, frustrated after her dismissal, aggressively threw her bat and gloves near the team dugout.
This being Gull’s first offense in a 24-month period, she accepted the charge and the penalty proposed by match referee Michell Pereira. The violation, related to the abuse of cricket equipment, was observed by on-field umpires and resulted in the imposition of a demerit point.
In accordance with ICC regulations, Level 1 breaches can lead to an official reprimand, a fine of up to 50% of the player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points. Pakistan, captained by Fatima Sana, will aim to end their winless streak as they face the Netherlands in their final Group A match on Saturday.
