Panic spread in parts of Ajmer when liquor businessman Jitendra Rangwani received a death threat and a demand for Rs 2 crore in extortion money from individuals linked to the Rohit Godara gang. The threats, conveyed through WhatsApp calls and voice messages, prompted the police to launch an investigation following the registration of a case.
The threatening incident occurred on Thursday around 4:00 P.M. while Rangwani was at a salon in Bhagwanganj for a haircut. An unknown caller, claiming affiliation with the Rohit Godara gang and the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate, demanded the money and warned of severe consequences if ignored.
The caller, identifying as Rahul Fatehpuria and Virendra Charan, made chilling references to a past high-profile case, hinting at potential harm to Rangwani. The police, including SP Harshvardhan Agarwala, have initiated a probe into the matter and tightened security for Rangwani, assigning an armed constable for protection.
