Acclaimed actor Pankaj Tripathi recently marked Bihar Day at the Embassy of India in Tokyo, where he shared how his upbringing in Bihar continues to shape his character. Tripathi emphasized that the simplicity, struggles, and emotional depth he embodies today are deeply rooted in his Bihar roots.
The event, graced by Her Excellency Nagma Mohamed Mallick, Ambassador of India to Japan, highlighted Bihar’s historical significance and its increasing global recognition. Tripathi, attending with his family, expressed, “The simplicity, struggle, and sensitivity from Bihar form the core of my identity.”
Tripathi further praised Bihar, stating that beyond its history, it is the people’s resilience, warmth, and ability to dream amidst challenges that make the state special. He noted the global impact of Biharis across various fields, contributing significantly to India’s global narrative.

The celebration, supported by Anand Vijay Singh, President of the Bihar & Jharkhand Association, Japan Chapter, showcased Bihar’s rich cultural heritage through traditional music, dance, and cuisine. Attendees were introduced to Bihar’s art, culture, and emerging trade, tourism, and investment opportunities.
