Actor Pankaj Tripathi expressed deep emotions as his play “Lailaaj” gets chosen for the 25th Bharat Rang Mahotsav, describing it as a moment reconnecting him with his theatrical roots.

Tripathi shared his heartfelt sentiments about the selection, highlighting the significance of Bharat Rang Mahotsav in Indian theatre and the honor of having “Lailaaj” featured in its 25th edition. The play, a musical comedy produced by Pankaj and his wife Mridula under Roopkatha Rangmanch, will be showcased at the prestigious festival hosted by the National School of Drama (NSD), Delhi.

Written and directed by Faiz Mohammed Khan, “Lailaaj” holds a special place for the Tripathi family, marking Pankaj’s return to the stage after a long hiatus and featuring their daughter Aashi’s debut, symbolizing a meaningful family collaboration.

The selection of “Lailaaj” for Bharat Rang Mahotsav is seen as a validation of the play’s journey nurtured with love, patience, and belief in the art of theatre. Pankaj and Mridula expressed gratitude for the opportunity, emphasizing the importance of storytelling with sincerity and warmth, and the power of theatre to move, heal, and connect.
