The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth, and Sports will scrutinize the progress of the NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak investigation on May 21. The meeting, set to commence at 11 a.m. at Parliament Annexe Extension Building, will also address NTA reforms.
As per reports, the CBI has apprehended 10 suspects across various locations in connection with the recent paper leak. The committee, led by Digvijaya Singh, plans to interrogate NTA chief Pradeep Kumar Joshi and Higher Education Secretary Vineet Joshi regarding the canceled NEET-UG 2026 Paper and upcoming re-exam arrangements.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced a significant shift to a computer-based NEET-UG starting next year. Meanwhile, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh has initiated privilege proceedings against the Education Minister for alleged derogatory remarks about parliamentary committees.
A fresh plea has been lodged with the Supreme Court seeking the immediate transition of NEET-UG to a Computer-Based Test mode. The petitioners include RJD MP Sudhakar Singh, social activist Anubhav Garg, Dr. Dhruv Chauhan, and others, advocating for this change.
