Police in Patna uncovered a scam targeting unemployed individuals with false promises of jobs in the Patna Metro. Acting on a tip-off, Jakkanpur police raided a fraudulent office in the Vigrahpur area. The scammers lured job seekers with fake interviews and duped them into paying application fees and other charges.
Three individuals involved in the racket, identified as Navin Kumar, Akhilesh Kumar Singh, and Akhilesh Choudhary, were arrested. The police seized incriminating documents during the raid, confirming the fraudulent activities. The accused demanded Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 per candidate for training and amassed around Rs 8 lakh through their illicit scheme.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Sadar), Patna, Abhinav Kumar, emphasized the importance of relying on official channels for job opportunities. He warned against falling for unauthorized offices or fake interviews and urged prompt reporting of such incidents to the police. Authorities are conducting a detailed investigation to uncover the full extent of the scam and take legal action against all involved.
