Sir Paul McCartney, the iconic Beatles legend, recently delighted fans in Los Angeles with a performance at the Fonda Theatre. The 83-year-old singer took the stage for a two-night event, treating the audience to 23 of his classic hits spanning his illustrious career. The intimate shows at the Fonda Theatre echoed the early days of The Beatles, reminiscent of their humble beginnings in Liverpool, England.
McCartney, addressing the enthusiastic crowd, humorously welcomed them to Hollywood and expressed his joy at performing in such intimate settings. He fondly reminisced about the venue’s history, formerly known as the Hollywood Music Box Theatre, which was later renamed in honor of actor Henry Fonda. The exclusive show, attended by a small fraction of his usual massive audiences, allowed McCartney to connect closely with his fans, stating, “It’s very lovely. It’s good to see the whites of your eyes.”
During the performance, McCartney focused on his extensive back catalog of music, spanning over six decades. The setlist included a range of Beatles classics like ‘Help’, ‘Let It Be’, ‘Hey Jude’, and many more, showcasing the timeless appeal of his music. While the shows were meant to promote his latest solo album, ‘The Boys of Dungeon Lane’, McCartney revealed that they primarily featured his well-loved hits, as the new songs were still being perfected by the band.
