Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress party during his speech in Assam, blaming it for obstructing the state’s progress. He accused the Congress of using Assam for political gains and impeding development initiatives. PM Modi highlighted the BJP government’s efforts in bringing growth to Assam and addressing the backlog left by previous Congress administrations.
PM Modi also referenced an incident involving a semiconductor plant where a senior Congress leader opposed the government’s move, suggesting a lack of interest in Assam’s development. He emphasized that Assam is now witnessing growth under the BJP’s governance and is poised to play a significant role in the nation’s development trajectory.
The Prime Minister’s visit to Assam included the inauguration of the Kaziranga Elevated Corridor Project, a major infrastructure venture worth over Rs 6,950 crore. This project aims to enhance connectivity in the region while ensuring the safe movement of wildlife, particularly through the Kaziranga National Park. Additionally, PM Modi flagged off two new Amrit Bharat Express trains, further strengthening rail connectivity between Northeast India and the northern regions.
