Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at a large public gathering in Gogamukh, Assam, emphasizing the state’s development and expressing confidence in the BJP’s third consecutive term victory. He highlighted Assam’s cultural heritage, mentioning iconic figures like Lachit Borphukan and Bhupen Hazarika, who continue to inspire the nation. PM Modi stressed the importance of a developed Assam for a developed India, asserting the BJP’s commitment to achieving this vision.
Positioning Assam as pivotal to India’s future, PM Modi expressed optimism about the BJP’s electoral success, aiming for a “hat-trick” victory in the state. He took a subtle dig at Rahul Gandhi, suggesting a string of defeats for the opposition leader and underscoring the BJP’s recent dominance. PM Modi outlined the BJP’s manifesto for Assam, aligning it with the people’s aspirations and promising significant developmental strides.
Emphasizing the BJP’s credibility in fulfilling promises, PM Modi highlighted the delivery of over 22 lakh pucca houses to families in Assam and plans to provide permanent housing for 15 lakh more. He mentioned the empowerment of women through schemes like “Lakhpati Baideo” and the expansion of the Orunodoi scheme for financial assistance. PM Modi also pledged to increase the number of financially empowered women in Assam and implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state.
On the agricultural front, PM Modi noted the benefits received by around 20 lakh farmers through the PM-Kisan scheme. Addressing the issue of floods in Assam, he announced a substantial investment to make the state flood-free and initiatives to enhance river depth for agricultural benefits. PM Modi highlighted advancements in governance, infrastructure development, healthcare, and education in Assam under the BJP’s tenure, contrasting it with the Congress era.
