Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that Artificial Intelligence (AI) signifies a transformation on par with significant historical events in human civilization. Speaking at the ‘India AI Impact Summit 2026,’ he emphasized that the current observations and predictions merely hint at the initial effects of AI. India, hosting the world’s largest AI Impact Summit, boasts a substantial youth population, a vast tech talent pool, and a dynamic tech ecosystem.
PM Modi highlighted India’s role in both creating and swiftly adopting new technologies. He welcomed Heads of Governments, global AI leaders, and innovators to the summit, noting the enthusiasm of India’s 1.4 billion people towards embracing new technologies. The Prime Minister commended the strong presence of young individuals at the summit, expressing confidence in their abilities.
Observing the global youth’s rapid acceptance and utilization of AI, PM Modi stressed the unprecedented speed and trust with which the younger generation is embracing this technology. He also acknowledged the significant participation of young talent at the AI Summit’s exhibition. Solutions presented in various sectors like agriculture, security, and assisting diverse populations underscore India’s innovative prowess in AI.
PM Modi emphasized that AI enhances human capabilities manifold by making machines intelligent. He cautioned that while AI can be disruptive without direction, it can be a transformative solution when guided correctly. Drawing parallels with GPS, the Prime Minister likened AI to suggesting a route while leaving the final decision to the user, emphasizing the critical role of human control over AI.
The Prime Minister highlighted the potential of AI to create new opportunities for innovation, entrepreneurship, and diverse industries, leading to higher-value roles for individuals. He stressed the importance of widespread skilling, reskilling, and lifelong learning initiatives. PM Modi envisioned an inclusive, trustworthy, and human-centric future of work, asserting that AI, when harnessed collectively, will elevate human potential to unprecedented levels.
