At least 16 bodies of laborers have been recovered after a massive explosion at a suspected illegal coal mine in Meghalaya. The East Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police confirmed the death toll and mentioned that the search and rescue operation is ongoing. The central government has announced immediate financial relief for the victims as rescue efforts continue.
