Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his admiration for India’s diverse cultural heritage while on his visit to Norway. He was greeted with performances showcasing the richness of Indian culture, including a fusion of Indian and Western classical traditions by the Barratt Due Music Institute. Modi also praised the Natiyalaya Dance School for its efforts in promoting Indian cultural heritage abroad.
The Indian diaspora’s contributions in preserving and promoting cultural traditions were also commended by PM Modi. He highlighted the cultural diversity of India through various dance forms like Sattriya, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Kathak, and Mohiniyattam, acknowledging their devotion and excellence in keeping India’s culture vibrant.
During the visit, PM Modi was welcomed by the Norwegian Prime Minister, Jonas Gahr Støre, with whom he aimed to strengthen the friendship between the two nations. Modi also appreciated the Bengali cultural display and Bharatanatyam performance organized during his visit to Sweden, emphasizing the global popularity of Bengali culture and the efforts of the Indian diaspora in promoting Indian traditions abroad.
