Shiv Sena (UBT) MP, Priyanka Chaturvedi, highlighted the escalating conflict with no signs of resolution, impacting global stability and essential supplies like oil. She emphasized India’s vulnerability due to its high energy import reliance and expressed hope for the Prime Minister’s diplomatic efforts to ease tensions. Congress MP Sukhdeo Bhagat, while appreciating the meeting, questioned the government’s proactive measures and stressed the need for broader consultations amidst the looming elections.
The meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, aimed to review the crisis’s developments and assess the government’s readiness. Cabinet Secretary T.V. Somanathan presented an overview of current ministry actions and proposed future preparedness strategies. The discussions emphasized the importance of India’s engagement with Middle Eastern nations to de-escalate the conflict and explore alternative energy sources.
