He highlighted the deep bond between the Indian diaspora and Seychelles, emphasizing their role as a vital link between the two nations, fostering strong people-to-people connections and enriching their shared journey.
PM Modi’s visit to Seychelles, where he attended the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the country’s National Day as the Guest of Honour, aimed to further enhance bilateral cooperation. Upon arrival, he and President Patrick Herminie exchanged national anthems and received a military salute during the Guard of Honour inspection.
During his visit, PM Modi enjoyed a cultural welcome, witnessing performances such as the traditional Seychellois ‘moutya’ and the ‘Nrutya’ folk dance from Kutch, presented by members of the Seychellois Indian diaspora. This visit marks PM Modi’s second State Visit to Seychelles, reflecting the enduring friendship and partnership between the two countries since Seychelles gained Independence in 1976.
