Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated TVK chief C. Joseph Vijay for becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu during a telephone call, wishing him success in his new role. Vijay, who leads the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), took the oath as the Chief Minister at a ceremony in Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium. This marks a significant political transition in Tamil Nadu, breaking the decades-long rule alternated between the DMK and AIADMK parties.
PM Modi, amidst his busy schedule across three states, personally called Vijay to extend his greetings on assuming office. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered the oath of office to Vijay, who at 51 years old, achieved a landslide victory in the recent Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The Prime Minister also expressed the Central Government’s commitment to collaborating with the state government for the welfare and progress of Tamil Nadu’s residents.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi took to social media to congratulate Vijay on his new role as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Modi’s message conveyed best wishes for Vijay’s tenure and emphasized the government’s dedication to working alongside the Tamil Nadu administration for the betterment of the state’s populace.
