The initiative has significantly reduced healthcare expenses for families across India by offering quality medicines at Jan Aushadhi Kendras at prices 50 to 80 percent lower than branded alternatives. The initiative has helped people save over Rs 40,000 crore by purchasing medicines from these centers, which serve as a preferred healthcare option for millions.
Sales at Jan Aushadhi Kendras have surged, reflecting the growing public trust in the scheme. The network of Jan Aushadhi Kendras has expanded rapidly, with the number of stores increasing from 80 in 2014 to nearly 18,000 in 2026, enhancing access to affordable medicines nationwide.
