Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented Kesar Mangoes, Rogan Painting with Tree of Life, and Meghalaya pineapples to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on his recent visit to Abu Dhabi. The Kesar Mango, also known as Gujarat’s “Queen of Mangoes,” is famous for its saffron-hued, fiberless pulp and intense aroma, symbolizing Gujarati hospitality and tropical excellence. Rogan painting, a textile art form from Gujarat’s Kutch region, features the Tree of Life motif representing interconnectedness and harmony between heritage and progress.
The GI-tagged pineapples from Meghalaya, celebrated for their sweetness and low acidity, are rich in bromelain, Vitamin C, and antioxidants. PM Modi also gifted Karimnagar Filigree box, Maheshwari silk fabric, and Chak Hao Rice to the UAE Queen Mother. The Karimnagar silver chest showcases intricate motifs and a ceremonial procession, embodying Indian culture’s dignity and celebration. Maheshwari silk, originating from Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh, is a blend of silk and cotton known for its elegance and reversible borders.
Chak Hao Rice, also called Manipur’s “Black Rice,” is a prized aromatic rice variety high in dietary fiber, iron, and antioxidants. Additionally, PM Modi presented Mithila Makhana and a dagger with Koftgari work to UAE Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed Al Nahyan. Mithila Makhana, or fox nut, is a premium product from Bihar valued for its purity and nutritional richness. The ceremonial dagger, adorned with intricate Koftgari work, reflects India’s martial and artistic heritage.
