Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the role of India’s traditional arts in societal empowerment and economic progress during the 129th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’. He shared the inspiring story of Chokhone Krichena from Manipur, who transformed traditional farming into a successful flower cultivation business. Krichena, appreciating government policies, noted their positive impact on grassroots entrepreneurs like herself, enabling self-reliance and market access.

Highlighting the geographical challenges of perishable goods like flowers, Krichena mentioned innovations in dry flower products that reduced wastage and created employment opportunities, particularly for women. She expressed gratitude for the government’s focus on empowering village youth and women, facilitating business expansion through startup and entrepreneurship support. Krichena aims not only for self-reliance but also to create job opportunities for others in need.

Through ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Krichena praised the platform for showcasing small entrepreneurs and grassroots initiatives, providing inspiration and confidence to aspiring business owners. She acknowledged the government’s efforts in the North-East, mentioning special programs that uplift communities in the region. Overall, she highlighted the positive impact of government policies on entrepreneurship and community development.
