Residents of Jhargram were taken aback by the Prime Minister’s impromptu visit to the snack shop amidst his busy schedule of public engagements. Later, PM Modi shared highlights from his visit on his social media platforms, expressing his enjoyment of the jhalmuri he had sampled.
While addressing four election rallies in West Bengal on Sunday, PM Modi took a break to relish the flavors of jhalmuri in Jhargram. The shop owner, Vikram Shaw, expressed his delight in serving the Prime Minister and recounted the personalized experience of preparing the snack to PM Modi’s liking.
Jhalmuri, a beloved spicy and crunchy street food from West Bengal, consists of puffed rice mixed with various ingredients like onions, tomatoes, potatoes, peanuts, chickpeas, and a unique dressing of mustard oil, lemon juice, and Bengali spices.
