Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Seychelles President Patrick Herminie convened at State House in Seychelles for discussions on bilateral cooperation and regional concerns. The meeting, attended by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and other officials, aimed to enhance ties between the two nations. PM Modi, during his State Visit, handed over various assets, including a Fast Patrol Vessel, ambulances, utility vehicles, and boats, to bolster Seychelles’ maritime capabilities.
The ceremonial handover, which included the ‘Made in India’ Fast Patrol Vessel PS LESPWAR, took place at the Seychelles Coast Guard Base in Victoria. These contributions are part of India’s commitment to supporting Seychelles in maritime surveillance and security. Additionally, the leaders planted a rare ‘Coco de Mer’ palm sapling at the Seychelles National Botanical Garden to symbolize their strengthened partnership. PM Modi’s visit underscores the enduring friendship and cooperation between India and Seychelles.
