Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that nominating the mother of the R.G. Kar rape-murder victim as a BJP candidate in West Bengal showcases the party’s dedication to women’s safety in the state. Swapna Debnath, the victim’s mother, is contesting from Panihati Assembly constituency in North 24 Parganas district. PM Modi highlighted the plight of women under the Trinamool Congress rule and emphasized the BJP’s commitment to women’s safety.

The Prime Minister expressed concerns over the treatment of women in West Bengal, citing instances of violence and disappearances. He assured that a BJP-led government would focus on women’s safety and empowerment, promising financial support and job reservations for women. PM Modi also criticized the Trinamool Congress and emphasized the importance of supporting women in the state.

During a campaign rally, PM Modi addressed the need for women’s empowerment and outlined plans for financial assistance and job opportunities for women in West Bengal. He took a dig at the Trinamool Congress for mocking his jhalmuri break during the BJP’s campaign, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and promoting the creativity of Bengal’s youth.
