Addressing the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the public’s innovative efforts in solving problems collectively. He highlighted examples from Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh during the 130th episode of his monthly radio show. PM Modi emphasized the country’s innovative nature, with some individuals turning to startups and others leveraging society’s collective strength for solutions.
In Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh, PM Modi lauded the community’s rejuvenation of the Tamsa River, a significant cultural and spiritual heritage. He noted that pollution had obstructed the river’s flow, leading locals to initiate a revitalization campaign. Through dedicated efforts, including river cleaning and tree planting, the community successfully revived the Tamsa River.
Additionally, PM Modi shared a story from Ananthapur in Andhra Pradesh, where severe drought conditions prevailed. The locals, facing water scarcity due to red, sandy soil, undertook reservoir cleaning initiatives. With government support, the ‘Ananta Neeru Sanrakshanam Project’ was launched, resulting in the revival of over 10 reservoirs and the planting of more than 7,000 trees. This project not only enhanced water conservation but also increased the region’s green cover, revitalizing the ecosystem.
PM Modi emphasized the power of public participation and collective efforts, citing examples from various regions across the country. He praised the unity and sense of duty displayed by individuals in fulfilling significant initiatives, highlighting it as a key strength of the nation.
