Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress party during the foundation stone laying ceremony of an elevated corridor in Kaziranga, Assam. He mentioned that the recent municipal elections in Maharashtra saw the Congress facing a significant defeat, indicating a rejection of their politics by the voters. Modi highlighted the BJP’s increasing trust among the people, citing victories in Bihar and progress in Kerala’s local body polls.
Modi emphasized the importance of good governance, stating that the BJP’s model focuses on development while preserving traditions. He praised the BJP’s ability to balance economy and ecology, exemplified by the proposed elevated corridor aimed at safeguarding wildlife and boosting the local economy with an investment of around Rs 6,000 crore. The Prime Minister also commended the BJP’s success in curbing rhino poaching in Assam, contrasting it with the Congress’s track record on the issue.
Addressing the infiltration problem, Modi accused the Congress of supporting infiltrators in Assam to the detriment of indigenous communities. He expressed confidence in the BJP’s efforts to address this issue and predicted a similar electoral outcome for Congress in Assam as seen in Bihar. Additionally, Modi inaugurated the Kaziranga Elevated Corridor Project, a significant infrastructure venture worth over Rs 6,950 crore, aimed at enhancing connectivity and reducing human-wildlife conflicts in the region.
