Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared moments from his ceremonial welcome at Perdana Putra in Putrajaya, emphasizing the growing warmth in India–Malaysia relations. He expressed the deep partnership between the two countries rooted in trust, friendship, and shared aspirations. This set the tone for his two-day visit, focusing on high-level engagements, cultural exchanges, and connecting with the Indian diaspora.

During his visit, PM Modi highlighted the cultural ties between India and Malaysia, especially acknowledging the contributions of the Tamil community in Malaysia. He announced the upcoming opening of an Indian Consulate in Malaysia to bolster diplomatic ties and better serve the Indian community. This move followed his participation in a grand Indian community reception in Kuala Lumpur, featuring a record-breaking traditional Indian dance performance by 800 artists.

At the event, PM Modi expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and recognized the Indian diaspora’s role in enhancing the friendship between the two nations. He also emphasized India’s commitment to the welfare of Indian nationals in Malaysia and strengthening people-to-people connections. The visit included a personal touch as PM Modi shared a car ride with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, showcasing the growing closeness in India–Malaysia relations based on mutual respect and shared cultural affinity.
