Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced his attendance at a program at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi at 5 p.m., where incentives totaling around Rs 2,400 crore will be distributed under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY).
This initiative is a significant step in the implementation of PM-VBRY, a key employment-linked incentive scheme by the Government of India aimed at boosting job creation, formalizing employment, enhancing employability, and expanding social security coverage in various sectors.
PM-VBRY encourages both employees and employers to join the formal economy. It offers incentives of up to Rs 15,000 for first-time employees and up to Rs 3,000 per month for employers for each additional employee hired, promoting continuous job creation.
The scheme, effective from August 1, 2025, with a total outlay of Rs 99,446 crore, targets the creation of over 3.5 crore jobs in two years, with a focus on integrating 1.92 crore new entrants into the workforce and extending social security benefits nationwide.
