Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Surat and Daman on June 5 to inaugurate, dedicate, and lay the foundation stone for various significant development projects totaling over Rs 22,600 crore. The projects cover sectors such as transportation, healthcare, industrial infrastructure, power, civil aviation, tourism, and maritime connectivity.
In Surat, PM Modi will review ongoing industrial operations and infrastructure projects in Hazira before inaugurating projects worth around Rs 18,800 crore. These initiatives aim to enhance road connectivity, industrial growth, power infrastructure, and healthcare services in Gujarat. Additionally, the Prime Minister will dedicate Packages VI and VII of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway, which is expected to boost transportation efficiency between Gujarat and Maharashtra.
Furthermore, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the four-laning of critical sections of National Highway-56 to improve connectivity across tribal regions and provide better access to the Statue of Unity. In the healthcare sector, he will inaugurate a new 200-bed ESIC Hospital in Surat, equipped with modern healthcare facilities. The visit will also witness the inauguration of various industrial and utility infrastructure projects, including Gujarat’s transmission network expansion.
Moving to Daman, PM Modi will inaugurate the New Terminal Building of NAMO Airport and NAMO Hospital to enhance regional air connectivity and healthcare services. He will also launch development projects worth approximately Rs 2,970 crore in Daman, focusing on infrastructure, tourism, and employment opportunities. Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for projects in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, aiming to boost maritime connectivity and socio-economic development.
