Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Karnataka on April 25 to inaugurate a memorial dedicated to the revered seer, Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Sri Guru Bhairavaikya Mandira at Sri Kshetra Adichunchanagiri in Mandya district around 11 a.m. During the visit, he will also release a book titled “Saundarya Lahari and Shiva Mahimna Stotram” along with former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda.
Sri Guru Bhairavaikya Mandira, constructed in the traditional Dravidian architectural style, is a tribute to the life and legacy of the late seer. It is not only a place of reverence but also envisioned as a source of inspiration for future generations, according to a statement. Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji, the 71st Pontiff of Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math, was known for his lifelong commitment to social service, having established numerous educational institutions and healthcare facilities.
PM Modi expressed grief over a tragic mishap at a power plant in Sakti district of Chhattisgarh earlier in the day. The mishap resulted in the loss of at least nine lives and injuries to over 20 individuals. He announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each deceased, while the injured would receive Rs 50,000 each. The Prime Minister extended condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured, mentioning that the local administration is providing assistance to those affected.
