Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Assam to launch various initiatives in the state. During his two-day trip, he will kickstart projects worth over Rs 47,600 crore in Kokrajhar, Guwahati, and Silchar.
In Kokrajhar, PM Modi will initiate the Assam Mala 3.0 project, focusing on road infrastructure with an investment exceeding Rs 3,200 crore. This scheme aims to enhance connectivity within Assam by constructing more than 900 kilometers of roads.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for several road infrastructure projects in the Bodoland Territorial Council area, including flyovers and bridges, totaling around Rs 1,100 crore.
PM Modi will also inaugurate a Periodic Overhauling Workshop in Kokrajhar to bolster railway maintenance infrastructure and create job opportunities. Furthermore, he will introduce three new train services to improve connectivity in Assam and the Northeast region.
The Prime Minister’s agenda includes distributing land pattas to tea garden workers in Guwahati and releasing the 22nd installment of the PM-KISAN scheme to over 9.3 crore farmers nationwide. He will also dedicate the Kopili Hydro-Electric Project and major railway electrification projects to enhance clean energy generation and rail connectivity across regions.
In the waterways sector, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for cruise terminals in Biswanath and Jorhat districts. Moreover, he will initiate the Regional Centre of Excellence at Bogibeel in Dibrugarh, serving as a maritime training and research hub for the Northeast.
Lastly, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Pandu Jetty-NH-27 approach road, the PM Ekta Mall in Guwahati, and perform Bhoomi Poojan for the Regional Centre of Excellence at Bogibeel.
