Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Assam and West Bengal over the next two days to participate in various programs and launch significant development projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and infrastructure in the region. The Prime Minister will be attending events in Kokrajhar, Guwahati, and Silchar in Assam before heading to Kolkata in West Bengal. During his visit, PM Modi plans to engage with the local populace and unveil key development schemes that will benefit the region.
In Assam, PM Modi will commence his visit in Kokrajhar, a region known for its association with the cultural heritage of the Bodo community. He will lay the foundation stones for several road connectivity projects aimed at improving infrastructure and stimulating economic activities. One of the major initiatives to be inaugurated is Assam Mala 3.0, a significant road development program aimed at enhancing connectivity within Assam and strengthening transport links with neighboring regions.
Apart from road projects, the Prime Minister will also launch three new train services to enhance rail connectivity across the Northeast and eastern India. These services, including the Kamakhya–Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express, the Guwahati–New Jalpaiguri Express, and the Narangi–Agartala Express, are expected to improve passenger connectivity between Assam and neighboring states, fostering trade, tourism, and economic development. PM Modi’s visit underscores the government’s focus on infrastructure expansion and connectivity in the Northeast, reflecting a series of development initiatives in the region in recent years.
Following his engagements in Silchar on March 14, PM Modi will proceed to Kolkata to participate in further events in West Bengal.
