Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Sikkim for a two-day trip starting Monday. He will participate in the closing ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the state’s formation. During the visit, PM Modi will unveil development projects worth over Rs 4,000 crore.
The Prime Minister’s itinerary includes a visit to the Orchidarium in Gangtok, which showcases the state’s ecological and floral heritage. He will also attend the Golden Jubilee celebrations at Paljor Stadium, where he will launch various projects in sectors like infrastructure, healthcare, education, and more.
In the healthcare sector, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for an Ayurveda hospital and inaugurate an Integrated Sowa Rigpa Hospital. He will also inaugurate educational institutions like Sikkim University’s permanent campus and various colleges.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will launch IT-enabled infrastructure projects in schools and lay the foundation stone for connectivity projects like steel arch bridges and road upgrades. He will also inaugurate power sector projects and initiatives in urban development, housing, and environmental conservation.
Tourism-related projects, agro-processing facilities, and sports infrastructure will also be inaugurated by PM Modi during his visit to Sikkim.
