Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects totaling around Rs 2,970 crore in Daman. The projects span various sectors like healthcare, aviation, tourism, education, connectivity, and urban infrastructure, aimed at boosting growth in the Union Territory.
Addressing a public gathering in Daman, PM Modi emphasized the significance of these projects in enhancing public services and creating economic opportunities, especially for the youth. He commended the progress made by Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, attributing it to effective governance and public participation in development initiatives.
PM Modi highlighted the impact of the newly inaugurated and proposed projects on improving the quality of life for residents. These initiatives, covering areas such as connectivity, health, education, tourism, and urban infrastructure, are expected to simplify daily lives and open up new avenues for the younger population.
The Prime Minister also touched upon India’s economic performance, citing a growth rate of 7.7% in 2025-26 and 7.8% in the quarter ending March 31. He underscored the resilience of India’s economy amid global uncertainties and praised the collective efforts of the nation in sustaining growth.
