Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on all citizens to actively engage in the ongoing Census 2027, stressing the individual responsibility each person holds. He highlighted the shift to digital data collection for this census, making it the world’s largest digital census. During his monthly radio show, Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi emphasized the significance of this campaign, urging Indians to participate wholeheartedly.
Census 2027 has embraced digital technology, with enumerators using a mobile app to directly record information during door-to-door visits. Participants now have the option to input their data themselves, receiving a unique ID upon completion. This ID streamlines the verification process when enumerators revisit households, eliminating the need for redundant data submission.
PM Modi underscored the inclusive nature of the census, stating that it is not solely a government initiative but a collective responsibility. He assured the public of the confidentiality and security of their data, encouraging everyone to contribute to the success of Census 2027. The census, originally slated for 2021 but postponed to 2027 due to the Covid pandemic, will be the world’s first fully digital population census, encompassing extensive caste enumeration for all groups.
