Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his monthly radio show ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ advised citizens to combat the rising summer temperatures by consuming traditional cooling drinks. He emphasized the importance of staying hydrated, being cautious in the sun, and adhering to government guidelines to beat the heat. PM Modi highlighted the significance of traditional beverages in Indian households during the summer, such as Aam Panna, Lassi, Buttermilk, Sattu Sharbat, Kokum Sharbat, and Sol Kadhi, which are not only refreshing but also reflect the diverse cultural heritage of the country.

In his address, PM Modi mentioned various regional summer drinks like Panakam, Neer Mor, Sambaram in South India, and Bela Panna in Odisha. He underscored that these beverages are deeply rooted in Indian traditions and embody the essence of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.’ PM Modi encouraged people to enjoy these homemade drinks during the hot season, emphasizing that they carry the wisdom of generations and are a part of India’s rich culinary heritage.
