The Prime Minister Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme has been instrumental in empowering small traders and street vendors economically. Babita from Ghaziabad and Vishnu Shankar Bhardwaj from Sarnath in Varanasi are shining examples of the scheme’s success.
Babita, who previously operated from a roadside stall, faced financial challenges during the pandemic until she learned about the PM SVANidhi scheme. With the scheme’s support, she invested in her business, leading to its growth and the establishment of a permanent shop.
Selling various religious items, Babita now earns between Rs 2,000 and Rs 3,000 daily, a significant improvement in her family’s financial situation. She credits the scheme for providing easy access to credit, transforming her business and life positively.
Vishnu Shankar Bhardwaj, another beneficiary, praised the PM SVANidhi scheme for making bank loans easily accessible to small traders. He highlighted the scheme’s financial and confidence-boosting impact on beneficiaries, emphasizing its role in enhancing their social standing.
Bhardwaj, who sells stone idols and gift items, commended the transparency brought by direct government benefit transfers to bank accounts. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, acknowledging the scheme’s role in fostering self-reliance among small traders and street vendors nationwide.
