S. Ramadoss, the founder of the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), was hospitalized in Salem district after collapsing during a campaign rally. The PMK is experiencing internal discord between Ramadoss and his son, Anbumani Ramadoss, who are both asserting leadership control independently.

Anbumani Ramadoss leads the PMK faction aligned with the AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), while Ramadoss has joined forces with the AIADMK faction linked to V. K. Sasikala. Ramadoss initiated a separate candidate list for campaigning independently.

During a rally in Pallapatti, Salem, Ramadoss urged support for PMK candidate Arul before suddenly feeling unwell and collapsing. He was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention, where he remains under observation.

Supporters are concerned about Ramadoss’s health, especially given the upcoming Assembly elections, which have heightened tensions within the PMK.
