Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) leader Anbumani Ramadoss has strongly criticized the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government for a serious decline in law and order following a brutal attack on a college student near Chennai. Anbumani alleged on social media that the incident occurred in Vallur village near Minjur, on the outskirts of Chennai.
According to his statement, a college student studying at home for exams was attacked by a three-member gang allegedly under the influence of drugs. The assailants forcibly entered her residence and tried to sexually assault her. When she resisted, they attacked her with sharp weapons, causing critical injuries. The student was hospitalized with serious wounds, awaiting official confirmation on her condition and the events.
Anbumani condemned the incident, blaming the DMK government for failing to protect women in the state. He pointed out the easy access to drugs, including cannabis, contributing to a surge in violent crimes. Describing the attack as a stark example of the consequences of uncontrolled drug spread, he highlighted the deteriorating safety situation for women even within their homes.
Expressing concerns about law enforcement, Anbumani criticized the authorities for not arresting the accused promptly, labeling it as “deeply shameful.” He reiterated his party’s stance, accusing the DMK government of repeated failures in safeguarding women and children. Anbumani emphasized that a change in government is essential to restore law and order in Tamil Nadu, expressing confidence in voters’ response in the upcoming elections.
Meanwhile, there has been no immediate response from the DMK or the police regarding the allegations. Authorities are expected to verify the incident details and provide updates soon.
