Acknowledging the party’s decline in recent times, Ramadoss admitted to a loss of political influence and public trust, despite the PMK once boasting 20 MLAs in the Tamil Nadu Assembly. He attributed this decline to a lack of dedication and accountability among the party’s leadership. Ramadoss highlighted the need for a renewed commitment to regain the party’s former glory and electoral strength.
Ramadoss also addressed the legal challenges surrounding the party’s internal affairs, expressing concerns about the leadership’s credibility and direction. He emphasized the importance of addressing these issues for the party to progress effectively. The Salem General Council meeting is seen as a pivotal moment by Ramadoss, marking the commencement of a fresh endeavor to restore the party’s identity, reputation, and political influence.
Ramadoss reminisced about the PMK’s past as a potent political entity, having secured 25 Assembly seats and even participating in the government. He stressed the necessity for the party to strive towards reclaiming its former eminence. Despite hinting at this being his final political battle, Ramadoss affirmed his unwavering commitment to the cause, urging party members, volunteers, and supporters to attend the Salem meeting in large numbers and unite with integrity, discipline, and dedication to shape the PMK’s future.
