Police arrested Tanay Shastri and two associates following a scuffle at his residence in Bongaon, North 24 Parganas district. The arrest came after actress Mimi Chakraborty filed a complaint about harassment at an event in the area. Chakraborty accused Shastri of interrupting her performance on stage and behaving arrogantly.
The incident occurred during an event in Nayagopalganj, where Chakraborty alleged she was harassed. She promptly lodged a written complaint with the local police station, claiming mistreatment for refusing to be a guest at Shastri’s house. The situation escalated, leading to the arrests after Shastri obstructed the police team.
Shastri, the event organizer, refuted the allegations, stating that Chakraborty arrived late for her scheduled appearance. He denied mistreating her and emphasized the need to conclude the event on time. Despite conflicting accounts, the arrests were made when Shastri and his associates hindered the police investigation.
