Five individuals have been apprehended by the police in Baramulla and Pulwama districts of Jammu and Kashmir for their involvement in drug smuggling activities. In Baramulla, Sopore Police made significant progress in an NDPS case by capturing additional suspects and seizing more contraband, hinting at a larger drug trafficking network. The arrests were made based on information provided by previously detained individuals, leading to the recovery of Codeine Phosphate bottles.
Further investigations are ongoing to uncover the complete drug supply chain connections. Additionally, in a separate incident, Police Post Hadipora nabbed a suspicious individual carrying a substance resembling charas during a checkpoint search. The person was identified as Farooq Ahmad Malla and a case under the NDPS Act was filed against him at Police Station Dangiwacha.
The police in Pulwama district also took action against drug trafficking, detaining two individuals at Hawal Naka and seizing contraband during a routine checkpoint. The arrested persons, Mohd Fahad and Aman, were found in possession of Codeine Phosphate bottles. A case has been registered against them at Police Station Rajpora under the NDPS Act, with investigations underway. Authorities in Pulwama emphasize their commitment to eradicating drug-related issues and urge the public to assist by reporting any drug trafficking activities.
