Police in Srinagar district, Jammu and Kashmir, have seized property worth Rs 1.20 crore from a notorious drug peddler as part of the ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan’ lasting 100 days. The attached property includes a three-storey house, a kitchen block, and land, all acquired through illicit drug trafficking.
Under the NDPS Act, Police Station Nowhatta attached the property of an accused involved in drug-related offenses. The property, owned by Nisar Ahmad Sheikh, was identified as proceeds of drug trafficking and seized accordingly. This action demonstrates the police’s commitment to dismantling drug traffickers’ financial networks and combating drug abuse.
J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha initiated the 100-day campaign against drugs, emphasizing strict punitive measures for drug offenders. Sinha participated in a padayatra in Budgam, Kashmir, urging public support in eradicating drugs and highlighting the administration’s dedication to the cause.
