A police team in Lalsot, Dausa district, Rajasthan, came under fire while trying to stop suspects in a murder case early Monday. The main accused, Chetram Gurjar, also known as Rahul Khatana, was shot in the leg during the exchange. Two other suspects were injured when their motorcycle crashed after losing control.
Circle Inspector Pawan Kumar Jat mentioned that the police had received specific intelligence about three murder suspects linked to the killing of Dharmendra Meena around 2:15 a.m. The suspects were reportedly on their way to Riwaali village in Bamanwas, Sawai Madhopur. A combined team of the District Special Team and local police intercepted the suspects near Binori Mod in Jaipur.
Upon being signaled to stop, the suspects allegedly fired at the police using a country-made pistol. Despite warnings from the police, the suspects continued firing, prompting the police to retaliate. In the ensuing confrontation, Chetram Gurjar was wounded in the leg, and the suspects’ motorcycle crashed, injuring Deshraj and Kallu.
The injured suspects were initially treated at the district hospital in Lalsot and later transferred to Dausa for further medical care. All three suspects have been taken into police custody. They are wanted in connection with the murder of Dharmendra Meena on April 10, which stemmed from a dispute at a restaurant near Jamat Crossroads in Lalsot. Investigations into the case are ongoing.
