The police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district have cautioned tourists against visiting remote and hard-to-reach areas in the district. Specifically, the police have noticed an increase in tourist movement towards the interior regions of Mulbangil and Batoo along the Hajibal–Babareshi axis. These areas lack adequate visitor support and emergency response facilities, making them unsuitable for tourism activities. To ensure public safety and prevent tourists from entering these restricted zones, the police will regulate and restrict tourist movement along the Qazipora–Ziran–Batoo–Mulbangil–Hajibal route immediately and until further notice. Stakeholders such as hotel owners, tour operators, and transport providers are urged not to promote or facilitate visits to these areas.
Tourists are urged to cooperate with the authorities and limit their visits to approved tourist destinations in the Tangmarg–Gulmarg area. The Jammu and Kashmir government has identified specific spots of tourist interest where travel is recommended. The primary goal of designating these areas as tourist destinations is to ensure the safety and convenience of visitors. Any individual or entity found violating the regulations or jeopardizing the safety of tourists will face legal consequences. Police teams will be stationed at key points to enforce these restrictions and safeguard the well-being of visitors.
