Police in Jalandhar are intensifying their investigation into the murder of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member Satwinderpal Singh, also known as Lucky Oberoi. Authorities have started questioning relatives of the main suspect, Joga Pholriwal. The killing occurred on Friday, and authorities are exploring various angles related to the case.
Around 12 hours after Oberoi’s death, a postmortem was conducted at the Civil Hospital by a medical panel. During the examination, doctors removed five bullets from Oberoi’s body. The bullets were found in different regions of the body, including the neck and abdomen.
Following the postmortem, Oberoi’s body was moved to a freezer facility at the Kishanpura crematorium. Medical officials mentioned that the process took over two hours due to the complexity of the injuries. Doctors successfully extracted five bullets, but some bullets still remain inside the body.
The investigation revealed a crucial lead in the case, according to the Director General of Police. Oberoi’s housekeeper is missing, and his mobile phone is switched off, raising suspicions. Police are scrutinizing CCTV footage from various locations in the city for further leads.
Authorities have detained and questioned relatives of the main suspect, Joga Foldiwal, in connection with the case. Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur stated that two accused persons, both wearing black hoodies, were seen fleeing the crime scene on an Activa scooter. The investigation is ongoing, with multiple teams working to track down the accused and gather evidence.
