In a crackdown on illegal liquor activities, the Special Staff of East District Police apprehended a 19-year-old named Rahul in Kalyanpuri, Delhi. Rahul was allegedly managing a location used for storing and distributing illicit alcohol. The operation, based on specific intelligence inputs, resulted in the seizure of a significant amount of illegal liquor.
The police team, led by Inspector Jitendra Malik, acted on information received during night patrolling in Kalyanpuri. They caught Rahul selling liquor outside his residence and seized 275 quarters, 24 half bottles, 84 beer bottles, and nine beer cans. The recovered stock, marked ‘For Sale in Haryana Only,’ indicated illegal transportation and distribution within Delhi.
Approximately 16 cartons of illicit liquor and beer, amounting to around 120 liters, were confiscated. This discovery points to an organized supply chain, prompting further investigation into the illicit trade network. A case has been registered under the Delhi Excise Act, and efforts are ongoing to identify the source and other individuals involved in the illegal trade.
Rahul, the detained suspect, is being interrogated to uncover his role and potential connections to broader liquor smuggling rings. The East District Police emphasize their commitment to combating illegal liquor activities to safeguard public health and maintain law and order in residential areas. This operation underscores the continuous vigilance and enforcement actions against illicit liquor networks in the capital.
