Significant political confusion has arisen within the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-Ajit Pawar Group) after the unveiling of a new National Executive list. This document, presented to the Election Commission of India (ECI), has sparked discussions in Maharashtra as it seems to prioritize the younger generation of the Pawar family over veteran leaders like Praful Patel, Chhagan Bhujbal, Sunil Tatkare, and Dilip Patil.
The recently formed national executive features Sunetra Pawar as the National President, her elder son Parth Pawar as the National General Secretary, and younger son Jai Pawar as a National Secretary. The absence of stalwarts like Sunil Tatkare and Praful Patel from their previous roles has led to speculation about internal restructuring or a strategic shift.
Following social media buzz around the list, Sunetra Pawar addressed the discrepancies, attributing them to technical errors. She assured that corrections would be made promptly to rectify the situation. Despite this clarification, analysts suggest that the move indicates the party’s inclination towards promoting younger leaders nationally.
The National Working Committee, led by Sunetra Pawar, was also detailed in the submission to the ECI, alongside the National Executive Committee. Notably, Praful Patel has been included in the National Working Committee as the NCP leader in Rajya Sabha, while Sunil Tatkare has been designated as the NCP leader in Lok Sabha without his previous role as National General Secretary.
