A political controversy arose in the Bihar Legislature’s Monsoon Session as Opposition parties accused the NDA government of saffronising special government schools by painting them orange. Leaders of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and AIMIM criticized the move, alleging an injection of religious symbolism into the education system.

RJD MLA Bhai Virendra strongly criticized Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari, labeling the decision a flawed government policy. He emphasized that painting schools in saffron was unacceptable and called for a discussion on the government’s choice.

The Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) announced plans to raise the issue across Bihar and demanded a detailed review of the government’s decision. Bhai Virendra warned the Education Minister, stating that the Opposition possessed information on his actions and advised him against hasty or provocative behavior.

Opposition legislators staged protests outside the Assembly, seeking clarification from the government on the color scheme for government schools. AIMIM MLA Akhtarul Iman criticized the government for focusing on saffronizing educational institutions instead of addressing critical public concerns like employment and development.
