Political leaders responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement of a high-powered task force on examination reforms, led by Nandan Nilekani. This move follows the NEET-UG paper leak controversy, which sparked nationwide protests and raised concerns about exam integrity. Congress MP Pawan Khera criticized the BJP, suggesting their reliance on Congress leaders and legacy.
Congress MP Phulo Devi Netam expressed support for the task force, emphasizing the need for reforms due to recurring paper leak incidents. She highlighted the importance of addressing student concerns and enhancing the education system through this committee.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav backed the initiative but questioned the timing of the government’s decision. He praised the task force members’ expertise but raised concerns about why it was not established earlier for faster national progress.
BJP Bihar President Sanjay Saraogi defended the government’s action, emphasizing the commitment to safeguarding students’ futures and eradicating question paper leaks. He stressed the importance of enhancing paper security, enforcing strict laws, and swiftly punishing those involved in leaks.
BJP MPs Naresh Bansal and Tarun Chugh also supported the task force, lauding it as a crucial step towards combating cheating and paper leaks. They commended Prime Minister Modi’s efforts in securing children’s futures and ensuring accountability for individuals engaged in such malpractices.
