Prashant Pise, currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry, has been named as the upcoming Ambassador of India to Oman, as per the Ministry of External Affairs. A member of the 1995 batch of the Indian Foreign Service, Pise is set to assume his new role shortly, succeeding Godavarthi Venkata Srinivas from the 1993 batch in Muscat.
Having started his international assignments in Cairo from 1997 to 2000, Pise has since held various roles, including in Tripoli till 2004. He has also worked in divisions related to Eurasia, United Nations Economic and Social Affairs, and served in countries like Japan and Mauritius.
Previously, Pise served as India’s Ambassador to Tunisia and later to Iraq before being appointed as the Ambassador to Slovenia in March 2024. Currently, he holds the position of Additional Secretary (Emigration Policy and Welfare) in the Ministry of External Affairs.
